The article discusses factors influencing changes in the speech repertoire of speakers in the modern context, analyzing the existing problems of language preservation as well. The main difficulties faced by linguists and language scholars during language description work are described. The article examines factors that could contribute to the preservation of existing linguistic diversity. It emphasizes that the protection of vulnerable languages is vital for the preservation of cultural and linguistic heritage.
