Annotation:
In the article we considered childhood as a socio-cultural and socio-psychological
phenomenon. Different concepts disclose childhood in the context of specific cultural
and historical conditions. At the present stage of social development it is important
to understand the intrinsic value of childhood, its particular philosophy, purpose
and place in human culture. The sciences of childhood have interdisciplinary
character, thus it is increasingly important to study childhood from the standpoint of
adult world relation to the world of children. The idea of child’s creative selfdetermination
in historical and cultural space where education plays one of the main
roles is the most relevant nowdays.

childhood, phenomenon, culture, the world of childhood, intrinsic value, cultural creativity, children's subculture, upbringing, education.
