The article deals with individual characteristics of learning foreign languages by
adult students of evening and part-time departments, as well as, selection of adaptive
technologies in terms of these characteristics. We have analyzed the researches of
andragogists and methodists, which reveal psychophysiological characteristics of
memory, thought, attention, emotions in adult stage. Social and psychological conditions have the great importance in ability of adults to take a new social role of «a

Adaptive methods of both Russian and foreign researches include communicative
approach, audiovisual method (AVM), individual teaching techniques, controlcorrecting
method of learning, role-playing games, teaching techniques (ADV – adapting-development-variation). So, we worked out the model of teaching adults based on adaptive educational technologies with consideration for individual style of learning a foreign language.
