Annotation:
The article gives a detailed description of teaching and learning stages in acquiring
new vocabulary through functional-semantic tables. We have summarized our experience
on the integrated formation of lexical skills, which anticipates reading articles
and texts from Lake Baikal Box: A Toolkit for Primary and Middle Grade Students.
The article shows a step-by-step technology of using functional-semantic tables
through communicative tasks. The other advantages of the functional-integrated approach
are enumerated as well (e.g.: the number of words acquired per a lesson).
The article is likely to arouse interest of foreign language teachers and specialists in
teaching languages.
