COMPREHENSION OF THE IDEA OF A LITERARY WORK THROUGH THE SYSTEM OF BINARY OPPOSITIONS (Evidence from the novel “The Innermost Man” by Andrey Platonov)

The article proves the relevance of work with the idea in the process of analyzing and interpreting the text without involving contexts. We underline the importance of the cat- egory of idea as the key in comprehension of art. The problem of construction the idea through the strategy of binary oppositions, identification of antinomies in the text as a characteristic feature of the author's value horizon is considered. We have made an at- tempt to construct binary oppositions based on the story "The Innermost Man" by And- rey Platonov, which are characterized by complex dichotomous interpretation of reality and antinomy as the most important characteristic of Platonov’s artistic world. Identifi- cation and actualization of binary oppositions allow comprehending a unique value idea in the text, deepening the understanding of the story and prolonging its "life" in the con- sciousness of modern readers.
