Since subject vocabulary is regularly used by most speakers in any language, regardless of their professional and social affiliation, it seems interesting for research. The wide use of subject world nominations fully represents the features and regional variations of the language. A large variety of names of furniture items with similar functions and appearance inevitably leads to the fact that native speakers call them differently or do not know all their denominations. Reference of trivial names eventually becomes a matter of dispute among native speakers. However, consensus in this area characterizes certain language facts. The article represents the results of the analysis of furniture vocabulary interpretation. We have chosen this thematic group for research because the popularity of these nominations makes it possible to perform more accurate experiment based on interpretation and comparative analysis. The study showed that use of the words тахта, банкетка, кушетка, оттоманка, диван, софа often do not coincide with their vocabulary definitions.
