The article considers the problem of Sergey Yesenin’s creativity reception based on the works of indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North. The experience of translating Yesenin's poems by the Vepsian poet Nikolay Abramov into his native language is reviewed in detail. His translations are characterized by precise intone- ment of the originals, metrics and syntax of Yesenin's original version. The experi- ence of creating by Abramov his own poems («Witch», «Pain»), congruent to Yese- nin's "human close bonds with the natural world" is analyzed. We also have defined imaginative and semantic similarity of the poems by Evenk poetess Varvara Danilo- va and Yesenin's poetry based on the materials of her collection «Paradise Hell», and identified Yesenin’s motifs and allusions in the posthumous collections «I will return to you» and «Flight of a Pink Gull» by the Yukaghir poet Gennady Dyachkov.
