The article discusses the essence and features of innovative activities in university. It analyzes the management of innovative activities in Buryat State University. The article considers the approaches to the definition of the term “innovation”, which has become firmly in use.
The intensification of the development of science and technology allows a new look at universities, highlighting them the role of centers of innovative activities. The need to commercialize the results of research and development forces universities to look for the most effective ways to increase their own competitiveness, not only in the market of educational services, but also in innovative technologies. Universities are integrated into the existing institutional changes, responding to big challenges, as well as independently develop innovative environment around and within themselves.
The article considers the formation of the program for the development of university focused on highlighting the role of research university, it describes the infrastructure for the development of innovations. The attention has been paid to the directions of development of the university, coordinated with the strategic directions of development and features of the geopolitical position of the territory in the context of the Eurasian economic.
