Annotation:
The article deals with the socio-religious situation, development and revival of Bud- dhism, the Buddhist clergy in Tuva. To investigate the factors of Buddhist Tuvan clergy reproduction and interconfessional situation in Tuva we have used sociological methods. During the revival of Buddhism in Tuva, young people began to study at Buddhist uni- versities in India, Mongolia and Russia. Modern Tuvan clergy is replenished from the rural intelligentsia, families of believers. The built-in intention compelled Tuvan monks to choose a spiritual path, to study Buddhist philosophy and continue the family tradi- tion. To preserve Buddhist culture and traditions in Tuva, it is necessary to resume the process of Buddhist clergy reproduction, its replenishment by highly qualified special- ists in Buddhism from Tuvan youth and intelligentsia.
