Polypredicative constructions with the meaning of immediate objective in the Buryat language

The article presents the results of studying the Buryat polypredicative constructions with the meaning of immediate objective. We have concluded that this meaning is expressed predominantly by verbal participle constructions, as well as by an analytical objective form. The grammaticalization of a participial case form in objective adverbial participle with verbs of intention and moving and the structural characterization of these constructions are revealed. There is a semantic link between the meaning of “immediate objective” and lexico-grammatical content of the construction: in the main part a predicate is expressed predominantly by verbs of motion and movement, sometimes by other verbs with the semantics of conscious activity of a subject. We have made an attempt to determine the place of structures with the meaning of immedi- ate objectives in the system of objective constructions as a whole.
