Annotation:
The article conceptualizes some issues concerning the role of folk traditions in the formation of personal moral values. It is noted that the processes of socialization are contradictory, ambiguous in the conditions of modern Russian society. We emphasize the actual character and importance of solving problems connected with raising the level of spiritual and moral culture of society. Inclusion of a person into the best ethnic traditions containing a rich educational potential, high moral ideals, behavior patterns, regulatory mechanisms is considered as an important factor of preserving the spiritual culture of society, favorable socialization, means of confronting negative processes and social phenomena. We highlight some provisions of the ethical teachings of Con- fucius about the significance of traditions in human life and society; reveal the im- portance of games in folk traditions, implementation of socially useful, socializing, value forming functions.
