The article the motive the motive of salvation in the novel "The Time of Women" by
Chizhova, traditional for Russian literature “The Time of Women”. Traced system sys-
tem of sequential actions and actions of the characters of, aimed at saving a girl named So- fia. Initially, salvation is associated with the baptism of the child and her naming as God's intercessor, and then with raising and caring for a dumb girl by three old women, neigh- bors in a communal apartment. Education was both secular and religious. The next step is salvation from the orphanage after mother's death. And the ultimate salvation — the mira- cle is that the heroine was able to speak, learn to draw and became a talented artist, and with all her deeds, with her whole life, she strove to comprehend the highest Divine essence. The concept of saving the main character of the novel is presented as Christian, which allows the work to fit into the spiritual context of Russian literature.
