In the modern context, tolerance is a realistic alternative to unconstructive resolution of con- flicts, aggression and violence, and therefore it arises interest and stirs up controversy. Dis- cussion of the problem of tolerance in recent decades has made it possible to identify many its properties and characteristics. However, there are some disputable issues that have to be clarified in studying tolerance, including the problem of its limits. Intolerance is beyond the lower limit of tolerance. And above its upper limit there are deeper and more substantial phenomena, such as agreement, trust, friendship, etc. The essence of tolerance is considered as the ability of the subject to accept differences, keeping his/her own identity. Taking into account P. Grechko’s viewpoint, we consider several forms of tolerance manifestation in its broad sense: from indifference to the tolerance based on respect and understanding.
