The article studies the religious policy of the Communist Party of China during the rule of Xi Jinping from 2013 to the present day. We describe the changes in the course of religious policy under the current government and its specific features. It has been noted that the prob- lem of religious regulation is becoming increasingly important during the current administra- tion. The party’s rhetoric was focused on the growing role of the Internet as a channel for the spread of extremist and terrorist threats, which in practice translates into close control over the Chinese segment of the global network. We also analyze the practical application of state attitudes towards religion on the example of particular confessions. It is concluded that dur- ing the current administration the inconsistency of the religious policy take place.
