DYNAMICS OF RELIGION-STATE RELATIONS IN MODERN CHINA: SOCIO-CULTURAL SPECIFICITY AND REGULATORY CONSIDERATIONS

The article analyzes the development of the regulatory framework for religion- state relations in the People's Republic of China. We have emphasized that the introduction of certain legislative acts and amendments to the Constitution of the PRC has a long chronological period, and is caused by the reaction to the events taking place in the world. It was revealed that the religious renaissance in China during the era of "reform and opening up" touched all religious movements, especially Christianity. The article pays special atten- tion to the period of the policy of adapting religion to a socialist society. We have come to the conclusion that the state authorities of the PRC, the ruling communist party are the force that influences the processes of religion’s revival in society and seeks to control religious life in the PRC.
