The article analyzes the influence of feminist ideas and practices on Russian soci- ety. The interaction of feminist ideas and society took place against the background of various historical events and social transformations, which determined the peculiarities of the development of feminism in Russia. We have traced the development of the most rele- vant trends in feminism in Russia. Despite the gender equality declared by law, a number of economic, political, and cultural problems remain unresolved. The gender imbalance in wages and career opportunities today is associated with the existing division of labour: hor- izontal — by industry and type of work, and vertical — the top career positions are usually occupied by men. The feminist influence on society is expressed in the policy of diversity and inclusion of people of any identity (gender, race, ethnicity) in the administration of companies, pursued by public organizations of various levels. The researchers also note the individual manifestations of feminization of the clergy in some religious communities. However, these trends have not yet been developed in Russian society. The Soviet, and then the Russian concept of masculinity, which was developed in a difficult historical period, influenced the female image, which significantly differs from that in the West. Resistance to feminism is based not only on masculinity, but also on the unwillingness to agree that there are problems associated with gender disparity. Resolution of these problems will con- tribute to the improvement of relations in the economic, political, and spiritual spheres of society.
