YIN YANG 阴阳 SYSTEM OF PHILOSOPHY IN THE CHINESE CULTURAL TRADITION

Yin-yang 阴阳 doctrine is the most important aspect in understanding Chinese philosophy. The article discusses the ideas of interaction of the opposite forces, their har- mony and equality, balance, which fundamentally differ from the concept of conflict of opposites inherent in Western philosophy. We have analyzed inseparable opposites, complementary interacting with each other, which dominate in the philosophical doctrines of China. Particular attention is paid to the manifestation of yin-yang 阴阳 doctrine in the practical sphere of people's lives, in particular, in medicine, psychology, home improve- ment, family relations, name giving, etc. An analysis of application of yin-yang 阴阳 system of philosophy when creating anthroponyms is a dynamic part of the article. The names based on the concept of harmony of opposite principles are considered as an integral part of Chinese thinking. We have come to the conclusion that the idea of interaction of opposites and their harmony is a basis of all things, the basic principle of Chinese philosophy, Chinese mentality, it is embodied both in theoretical and empirical spheres, and used in various areas of life, in particular, in name giving.
