Annotation:
The article analyzes the views of Russian philosophers on the ways of Russia's development through a critical understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of the Western European civilization. It again becomes relevant in the context of a new confronta- tion between Russia and Europe. Representatives of Slavophilism write about the spiritual poverty of Europeans generated by Catholic Christianity, which justifies everything the au- thorities want. V. S. Solovyov opposes the European category of the “man-god” as an ex- treme degree of egocentrism to the God-man, approves a special path for Russia, calls for focusing on traditional values without attempts to become Europe. The representatives of Westernism also urge to follow our own way using the experience of Europe. Paying atten- tion to the specifics of the development of Russian civilization, to the flexibility and toler- ance of Russian culture, we call for an objective analysis and balanced dialogue with West- ern countries in the current situation.
