Annotation:
The article presents the results of drawing typological parallels between the spiritual development of a person in Russian philosophy and Buddhist philosophy. We have compared modern Russian and Buddhist philosophies, represented mainly by two models: the vertical model of spiritual development by V. P. Zinchenko and the Eightfold Path of Enlightenment by Buddha Shakyamuni (as interpreted by Je Tsongkhapa and other great followers of Buddhism). The following parallels can be traced: three stages of the spiritual development of a person — three stages of the Path to Enlightenment; there are mechanisms of "phase transitions", 8 levels of personal development and 7 "nodes" within each structural unit — the moments of transition from the outside to the internal plane and vice versa, i. e. "externalization" of personal achievements, manifestation of internal quali- ties through behavior, speech and activity. It is determined that due to the universality of human thinking, even the most opposite points of view, divorced from each other in time, geography, theory, come to one key triadic dominants in accordance with the level of per- sonal development. Different traditions of philosophizing analyze individual improvement, which is possible for any type of personality and is important in a social context.
