Annotation:
The problems of music teachers training in high school reflect continuing transformation of so- ciety. Today teacher training universities are in constantly search for ways to revitalize educa- tion and introduce new educational technologies. In the article we analyze the experience, prob- lems and priorities of training music teachers in the Republic of Buryatia within the framework of the education strategy for the humanities. Monitoring of the situation in music education, its actual state and prospects of development show that profession of music teacher is and will be in high demand only if it has new relevant professional content. This content may be associated with the expansion of music teacher activities in spheres of general secondary education and ad- ditional education, including design and implementation of various programs for musical and ar- tistic development.
