Annotation:
The article examines eco-philosophy as the most relevant area of contemporary non-institutional philosophical knowledge and the basis for a specific understanding of the phenomenon of patriotism by Latin American thinkers in the modern historical stage. Based on the etymology of the terms "patriotism" and "eco-philosophy," it is concluded that a common element for them is the expansion of the understanding of the Home as a "system of basic relevancies" for humans. An analysis of a number of works by authors such as M. de Troy and V. Quintilio (Brazil), D. F. Serrano and E. Leff (Mexico), R. H. Rodriguez Rodriguez (Venezuela) is conducted. Based on this analysis, distinctive features of understanding the phenomenon of patriotism in this region are identified.
