ECOLOGICAL CIVILIZATION OF CHINA PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT

Formation of ecological civilization is a complex project based on rejection of the utilitarian concept of development, creation of a new concept of harmonious de- velopment, co-evolution of society and nature, improvement of people's ecological consciousness. The results of this study allow us to identify the trends of further theoretical search within the discourse of ecological civilization that affect the most important problems arising in the process of ecological civilization formation: contradictions between the requirements of economic development and environ- mental protection, between the ongoing process of urbanization and the need for rural reconstruction, the problem youth ethical and ecological education. We sug- gest that development of Chinese society towards ecological civilization, as well as rich cultural heritage, will contribute to formation of ecological consciousness and ecological behavior of the population.
