Annotation:
The article is devoted to the religious policy of Sui emperors toward the system of three
teachings. We considered the history of syncretic ideology formation and analyzed the role
of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism in formation of the centralized state in China during
the Sui Dynasty. It was shown the nontrivial situation of ideological syncretism (between
three teachings), which did not lead to personal cognitive dissonance among the
representatives of different social groups, but, on the contrary, allowed developing a balanced
religious policy towards the traditional Chinese religions and doctrines, and at the
same time ensured dominance of Confucianism in the state ideology.
