Annotation:
The article considers the potential of the «Book on Memory of Victims of Political Repressions
in the Republic of Buryatia» as a historical source. After analyzing the data
stored in 7 volumes of the «Book on Memory of Victims of Political Repressions», the authors
of the article found out the data of statistical-demographic nature. In particular, they
determined the gender, age and national composition, the level of education, the number
of ministers of religious cults and the measures of punishment of people included in the
7 volumes of the Book of Memory. In conclusion, the authors note that such publications
as the Book of Memory, based on archival sources, are a valuable historical source, since
they facilitate the process of analysis and comparison of data.
