The article is devoted to the problem of repressive state policy, which was subjected to the
inhabitants of the Buryat-Mongolian ASSR. Particular attention is paid to the Buddhist
clergy, who suffered particular cruelrepressions. Based on materials of the Book on Memory
of Victims of Political Repressions in the Republic of Buryatia, the data about the inhabitants
of the village Chesan were identified, exactlythe lamas of theChasansky datsan.
