To choose the methods of anesthesia for maxillofacial surgery and use them in practice are the main tasks of a dentist, especially, if he works with children. The anatomical and physiological characteristics of deciduous teeth, the features of roots formation and re- sorption, concomitant pathological processes should be taken into account. The low tox- icity of articaine and extensive therapeutic effect have been revealed, which makes it a drug of choice for children, elderly people, pregnant women and nursing mothers. Arti- caine is recommended for children over 5 years. The dosage of anesthetic is calculated according to the manufacturer's instructions in accordance with child’s age and weight and the dose factor.
