It is known that chronic alcohol intoxication leads to an increase in the rate of con- sumption of glucose and oxygen by the brain tissues, there is a state of oxygen star- vation, which leads to a violation of intracellular protein metabolism, and activates free radical processes. As a result, there is an excessive content of free radicals and products of lipid peroxidation in the cell, resulting in structural and functional dam- age to the neuron. At the same time, the protein-lipid complex is the main constituent of the cell membrane, the violation of its integrity leads to a number of neurological disorders. The aim of the work was to study the nootropic effect of the complex application of the preparation of cortexin polypeptides with a concentrate of polyun- saturated fatty acids based on the fat of the seal on the model of chronic alcohol intoxication. Materials and methods: the study was conducted on white rats of both sexes in the Wistar line. Chronic alcoholic intoxication was reproduced according to the preclinical research guidelines. Pharmacological effects of drugs were evaluated in the "open field" test. Results: the obtained results reliably testified that in complex application of the drugs in rats the general motor activity was significantly increased, mainly due to the increase in the level of vertical activity, along with the de-smoking and grooming acts decreased, in comparison with the control group. Conclusions: the results of the test showed a decrease in the level of anxiety and stress, as well as the time of adaptation to new conditions in these experimental animals against the background of alcohol intoxication. It was revealed that the use of the medicines used in the complex was the most effective and long lasting, thus having a more pronounced nootropic effect, as compared to using them separately.
