The stress-protective and antioxidant effect of the extract of dry cacalia and panceria was investigated in experiments on white rats of the Wistar line. The stress- induced state was modeled by 24-hour immobilization of animals. The stress-protective effect of the extracts was assessed by the severity of the Selje triad (adrenal hypertrophy, involution of the thymus and spleen, the presence of destruction in the gastric mucosa); antioxidant activity - by content of MDA and catalase activity in blood serum, SOD level in erythrocytes, as well as concentration of reduced glutathione in blood. It has been found that the extract exerts a pronounced stress-protective effect by preventing adrenal hypertrophy, the involution of the thymus and spleen, as well as limiting the development of ulcerative lesions in the gastric mucosa induced by immobilization stress.
