The article deals with the identified coping strategies in 50 men aged 25‒40 with a diagnosis of "harmful use of cannabinoids" (F12.1) and describes possible justifications for these features. The relevance of the topic is due to the fact that drug addiction currently poses a threat to the well-being of the user, their family, and, on a global scale, society as a whole. The problem of drug addiction is acute and socially significant for the population. The further work of the entire drug abuse treatment service directly depends on how thor- oughly this condition is studied. The coping strategies are an integral part of the manifesta- tion of each individual's personality traits. By understanding the distinctive features of each specific clinical case of patients with harmful use of cannabinoids and determining their dis- tinguishing characteristics, a specialist can develop a specific working model for effective prevention and treatment. The aim of the study is to identify the specific coping behavior characteristics of men with a diagnosis of "harmful use of cannabinoids". The authors have found high scores on the following scales: cognitive: "Problem analysis", "Meaning attribu- tion"; emotional: "Optimism"; behavioral: "Cooperation" and "Distraction". Coping strate- gies that are absent include emotional: "Protest", "Emotional discharge", "Passive cooperation", and "Aggressiveness"; behavioral: "Compensation". As we can see, a higher percent- age is attributed to adaptive and relatively adaptive coping strategies. From our point of view, this may indicate that people with harmful use of cannabinoids still retain constructive behavioral patterns, unlike individuals with chronic use and a diagnosis of "Cannabinoid addiction syndrome". The problem of drug addiction is multidisciplinary, so it is necessary to understand and analyze the characteristics of its manifestation, as well as the personality traits and characteristics that exacerbate this condition. Understanding the characteristics of coping strategies will help a psychiatrist-narcologist together with a medical psychologist to address the problem. In this case, the role of the medical psychologist is to teach constructive behavior and develop adaptive coping strategies in the patient.
