Today desertification is one of main natural disturbing process for human lives and livelihoods, especially in the typical steppe grassland in Valley of Xilin Gol River. The analysis of desertification change is an important step toward mitigat- ing the impact of desertification on human life and property. In this paper, we applied fractal theory and remote sensing-based methods to analyze comprehen- sively the spatial pattern change at Xilin GOL League.
