Annotation:
Today, Russian universities are recognized actors in Arctic scientific diplomacy, which perform a number of important functions in organizing international scientific cooperation with foreign countries and promoting the interests of the country on various international platforms, creation of positive image of Russia in the world. The article considers international scientific Arctic cooperation between St. Petersburg State University, the leading institution in this field of research, and Oriental countries. As a result of recent large-scale geopolitical events, there is a geographical diversification of scientific ties of leading domestic institutions implementing scientific and educational Arctic projects (including St. Petersburg State University), Oriental countries are included in the Arctic scientific cooperation, and the line of scientific polar research is formulated within the framework of BRICS. The article analyzes the most successful projects implemented by St. Petersburg University with the countries of East and South-East Asia.
