INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES AS A TEXT-FORMING MEANS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF PUBLIC TEXT-DISCUSSION)

The article deals with the problem of the functioning of interrogative sentences in the role of text-forming means in the text-discussion of a publicistic style as one of the stylistic types of functional-semantic types of speech, which is among the problems concerning the use of language means in texts of various styles and types of speech. The use of interrogative sentences as a means of text formation is interpreted as the realization of text-forming potencies arising from the very nature of the interrogative sentence and the specifics of its functioning: the text-forming function of interrogative sentences is based on the laws of question functioning in the process of communication and in the process of thinking, on the communicative and cognitive functions of the question. Typological features of publicistic style are defined as favoring the wide and productive use of questions as a text-forming tool in this type of text.
