OFFICIAL-BUSINESS STYLE AND MODERN DOCUMENT: CAUSES AND TRANSFORMATION DIRECTIONS

The article is devoted to the analysis of the functioning of the document in modern business communication. One of the general reasons for evaluating a document is such a criterion as its effectiveness. It is the effectiveness of modern documentation and is considered on the example of the analysis of the genre of business writing. An important feature of a business letter is that, acting as a tool for business communication, it provides the very course of communicative interaction. Composing a text that does not meet the requirements of the language, style and communication situation may significantly reduce the effectiveness of the document. The analysis revealed errors typical of the texts of the genre in question. These are structuring errors, errors generated by the processes of formalization and de- formalization of speech, and various violations of language norms associated with a lack of understanding of the essence of business communication and with the inability to independently generate the correct text.
