Annotation:
The article reviews genre features of Russian family novel in A. I. Er- tel’s creativity – family subject, family ideal, family as special collective hero, peculiarities of plot and composition, realism in showing life events. The author claims that Russian family novel exists in a synthe- sis with other novel’s genre types, and family subject is revealed in a wide context of public life of society.
