Annotation:
The article discusses the narrative organization of N. V. Gogol's «The story of how Ivan Ivanovich quarreled with Ivan Nikiforovich». The basis of the narrative strategies in this work is an ornamental skaz. Character skaz, the classical type of skaz-narration, a typical image of philosophy and psychology of the narrator are represented; ornamental skaz is focused on the playing poetic. The impersonal nar- rator becomes a point of intersection of dissimilar word «gestures» and stylistic worlds in ornamental skaz. On a material of N. V. Gogol‘s story the authors ana- lyze the skaz-receptions, which are creating the installation on playing word‘s val- ue in itself. It is concluded, that the basis of the Gogol‘s playing poetics is an ap- peal to the existential consciousness, form the tragedy of the author's perception of reality.
