CRIMINOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PERSONS HAVING COMMITTED CRIMES OF TERRORISM

The article considers such an important element of criminology as a personality of criminal. The judicial and investigative practice, evidential materials, theoretical and methodological recommendations show that, when revealing and investigating terrorist crimes, special attention is paid to the analysis, characteristics, typology and classifica- tion of criminal personality. In our opinion one of the most promising areas of combat- ing terrorism is the targeted impact on potential terrorists even before they begin the terrorist activities. In this regard, the role of studying the criminological characteristics of the personality of criminal, his motivation, propensities and preferences is growing. The research is based on historical, statistical, systemic and other methods. The article also reveals promising areas of combating terrorism.
