The article raises questions of legal education of the elderly and older age groups regarding the content of their legal status as participants in certain public relations regulated by legal norms, which are important for them in terms of both the possibility of involvement in them and the risks of violation of their rights due to their lack of proper knowledge of the relevant legislation. In particular, the field of criminal justice, where the probability that persons of elderly and older will be the participants is large enough given existing statistics of the Russian population by age and the share of this category, as well as a trend towards
greater increase in the future. It is noted that the organization of educational activities in this direction will help ensure the implementation of human rights and the social essence of the state. Taking into account the development of information technologies, it is proposed to make greater use of the possibilities of the digitalization process to address these issues.
