Today in Russia there is an active search for its own civilizational identity, and the ideas of Eurasianism are becoming more relevant than ever. The uniqueness of historical experience, attitude to life and special behavioral attitudes, expressed in the collectivism and spirituality of the Russian people. This in many ways distinguishes us from the Western model of attitude, which is based on individualism and personal economic gain. Features of the Eurasian type of behavior are manifested in all spheres of our society, from culture and education to the system of punishment for crimes. This article discusses the system of pun- ishment, and its historical roots through the prism of Eurasian ideas. If today we recognize its global differences from the Western world and different approaches to building and or- ganizing society, then these differences cannot but exist in the system of punishing crimi- nals.
