In accordance with the constitutional provisions, Mongolia has acceded to the international conventions on the rights of the child and the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption. As required by international obligations, Mongolia has made significant changes to the regulation of adoption. These changes are reflected in 11 laws adopted according to international acts and 7 legal acts standardizing procedural issues of adoption. However, the extent to which Mongolian legislation protects the rights and interests of adopted children remains the matter of current concern. According to the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, the causes of violation of the rights and interests of adopted children in Mongolia have been repeatedly explored, as well as the issues of implementing various recommendations on identification of practical problems and elimination of violations. The article is devoted to the problem of improving modern legislative regulation of inter- national adoption. Based on the practice of international adoption, we have proposed the measures to ensure national interests and state control in order to protect the interests of adopted children.
