Acute respiratory infections have an extremely high incidence with significant labour losses. In Russia, 27.3 million are registered annually. Cases make up to 41.2 million. In addition, a large number of patients self-medicate and do not seek medical help. Consequently, the official data are understated by 1.5-2 times. In the occurrence of pathology, hypothermia and the presence of weak immunity play an important role, which should be taken into account in the prevention of acute respiratory viral infectionы. The unjustified and rational use of antibiotics, leading to resistance and significant undue ma- terial costs, is important.
