Buryat State University today is a major center of science and education. By the 90th anniversary it had come a long and difficult path of establishment and development. The creation of BSU — BSPI was a major event in the spiritual life of the republic, marked the beginning of higher education in Buryatia, played a large part in the development of its economy, education, culture and science. The university preserved the best traditions accu- mulated in antecedent universities. An important factor in the university’s development was the constant search for non-standard solutions to improve its facilities and resources, attract highly qualified personnel and overcome the many crises that have arisen in recent years in the Russian educational space.
