MECHANISMS FOR SUPPORTING SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN AMUR OBLAST

The article discusses the mechanisms for supporting small and medium entreprises in a strategically important region of Russia bordering China. Entrepreneurship support has become the most important strategic direction for Russia today due to the negative processes in this area caused by the immaturity of the business sector, as well as the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, etc. Business entities largely determine the results of the socio- economic development of the country and its regions; the growth in the number of SMEs contributes to the increased competition in the current economic system and solves such problems as low standard of living and solvency of the population, decline in employment and many others. At present, there is a positive experience in solving entrepreneurship prob- lems in the People's Republic of China, and it could become one of the sources of transfor- mation for Amur Oblast. Based on the results of international experience and the capabilities of new modern technologies, we have proposed practical recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the implementation of individual mechanisms to support small and medium business in the region. Their progressive implementation will improve the key results of the state policy to support and develop entrepreneurship in the region.
