ADJECTIVES OF THE BURYAT LANGUAGE DESIGNATING POSITIVE TRAITS OF HUMAN CHARACTER (preview, materials)

The article discusses the vocabulary that denotes the positive personality traits in the Buryat language. This vocabulary is represented mainly by adjectives. When character- izing a person, an interlocutor, vis-a-vis first of all pays attention to his moral virtues — kindness, sincerity, calm and balanced character, seriousness, hospitality, and mental out- fit — intelligence, wisdom, etc. The most widespread characteristic in the Buryat language is һайн "good", which include all the positive qualities of a person. This trait reflects their past nomadic lifestyle. “Hospitality” is a very important character trait for Buryats. This trait reflects their past nomadic lifestyle. Each guest is honorable, even if he is a neighbour and his camp is located “only” ten kilometers away. This article is a preview of the charactero- logical vocabulary in the Buryat language, it also presents the necessary illustrative exam- ples.
