The article is devoted to the analysis of the internal space of the Kalmyks’ dwelling, which will also consider the words included in the lexical and semantic group with the meaning "dwelling". The vocabulary of the internal space of the dwelling is studied from the point of view of ethnolinguistics and reconstruction of the ethnic picture of the Kalmyks' world as the dwelling is one of the most important components of the material culture of the people, and is of great interest in terms of semantic features in the spiritual culture of the ethnic group. The analysis of vocabulary allows us to reconstruct the ideas of an ethnic group regarding the religious and symbolic distribution of space, its functions and meaning. Housing as one of the most important components of the material culture of the people is of great interest both in terms of studying the culture and history of the ethnic group, and in terms of language, in particular, identifying the semantic features of the vocabulary of residential and economic buildings in the spiritual culture of the ethnic group.
