BRIEF OVERVIEW AND CURRENT ISSUES IN THE STUDY OF MONGOLIAN MONUMENTS OF LAW

The range of research questions in the history of law covers all aspects of the national legal system. The history of law is in close connection with each branch of law, substantive and procedural law, as well as with fundamental general science — legal theory, theory of government, philosophy of law, comparative law. In addition, the history of law is interconnected with social studies and the humanities, their branches. This fact indicates that the scope of application and possibilities of research on the history of law is very wide. Fundamental research into the sources of legislative acts occupies an important place in the study of law history. The study of the sources of law is the key factor determining the knowledge of the history of law and trends in its development. Fundamental legal research is possible based on the results of a detailed study of the sources of law. Therefore, the article is devoted to the issues of the place and role of source and origi- nal textual studies in the process of knowledge of law history. We have evaluated the results of research on the history of Mongolian law, and touches on some important issues of fundamental research on the monuments of Mongolian law.
