CHINA'S RURAL DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE

The article analyzes the development of rural areas of the People's Republic of China for the period from 2000 to 2020. We have established that, on the one hand, during this period, the rural areas of China were in crisis, had a pronounced tendency towards reduction of the population, lag behind urban settlements, including the level of income of the population. On the other hand, this rapid process of urbanization took place against the background of mechanization and electrification of rural areas, which ultimately led to an extension of cultivated land and an increase in output. In order to reduce the negative impact of migration of rural population to cities, China passed the Rural Revitalization Promotion Law in 2021, the policy to support rural areas was also confirm by the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
