PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF FOREIGN ECONOMIC COOPERATION OF THE RUSSIAN BORDER REGION IN THE MEAT INDUSTRY

The article analyzes the dynamics of foreign economic cooperation between the Republic of Buryatia (a border region) and Mongolia in the meat industry. It is shown that over the period from 2017 to 2021 foreign trade turnover between the Republic of Buryatia and Mongolia increased in the meat industry as a whole and in individual product groups. Using the example of individual border regions of the republic, we have identified mutually beneficial areas of cooperation, as well as the main problems and prospects for the development of foreign economic cooperation between the Republic of Buryatia and Mongolia in the meat industry. The article predicts the volume of foreign economic turnover of Buryatia and Mongolia for the medium term, and shows that the volume of exports in the group “meat and meat products” from Buryatia to Mongolia in the forecast medium term will grow at a faster pace compared to the volume of imports in this group.
