Preparation and execution of the state defense order is an important task today. The effectiveness of its performance directly depends on the level of methodological ba- sis for forecasting performance targets of the state defense order.
The article is aimed at development of a method for forecasting performance targets of the state defense order. Analysis and synthesis, economical and mathematical modeling are used as methods of the research.
As a result we have built a system of performance targets for the state defense order, developed a methodology for forecasting their quantitative values, and identified the place of the state defense order in the system of ensuring national security.
