Annotation:
The article deals with the implementation of Russian import substitution course. We consider the aspects of this economic phenomenon in border regions in view of their specific geopolitical location. The economic status of the Republic of Buryatia has been analyzed in terms of determining the types of economic activity that make the greatest contribution to the GRP index. Based on this analysis we have identified the main trends of Russia’s import substitution program in the economic system of border regions, such as industry and agriculture. Also, the article presents an in-depth study and comparison of the dynamics in agriculture of the domestic and border regions since the announcement of the Russian import substitution course.
