TUVA'S ACCESSION INTO IN THE USSR (1944) — THE BEGINNING OF A NEW STAGE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ITS INTELLIGENTSIA

The article deals with the problems of the intelligentsia development after the en- try of Tuva into the USSR. We reveal the prerequisites and conditions of this process in economic, socio-political and spiritual-ideological relations. Attention is focused on the im- portance of Tuva's entry into the USSR as a factor in a dynamic, planned process of creating a large, multi-sectoral, multinational socio-cultural community of knowledge workers. We have traced the ways of developing the intelligentsia: attracting representatives of the old in- telligentsia, involving of persons of Arat descent to managerial activity, training specialists in higher and secondary specialized schools, inviting specialists from other regions. The ar- ticle analyzes the ways and methods of training national personnel, focuses on the speedy solution of these problems. It has been revealed the losses in the environment of the emerg- ing intelligentsia in the second half of the 1930s and in 1940s during the political repres- sions. We have shown the activity of the intelligentsia in various fields of public life.
